IUST Delegation Visits Al-Zahraa University in Iraq to Advance Bilateral Academic Cooperation

As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering international academic collaborations, a delegation from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) visited Al-Zahraa University in Karbala, Iraq, on Thursday, May 15, 2025. The visit was conducted in line with the implementation of the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the two institutions.
The IUST delegation, consisting of Dr. Reza Golshan Khavas, Director of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation, and Dr. Asghar Habibnejad, Director of Education, traveled to Karbala to engage in discussions on operationalizing the agreed-upon initiatives.
During the visit, the delegation held productive meetings with university officials to explore avenues for collaboration, including faculty and student exchange, joint educational programs, collaborative research projects, and co-hosting international academic events. The IUST representatives also toured various facilities at Al-Zahraa University gaining a firsthand perspective on the institution’s infrastructure and academic activities.
This visit marks a significant step toward strengthening regional academic ties and underscores IUST’s strategic vision to leverage partnerships with universities in the Islamic world to enhance its international presence and academic impact.
